The Federal Privacy Act has had its coverage extended to a range of private organisations from 21 December 2001.

Consistent with the general requirements of the Act the College has and will continue to make necessary efforts to safeguard the information provided to it by members and others.

The College member database is accessible by College staff and Branch officials through secure internet access. These persons use this information only for College purposes.

College mailing lists are sent to one commercial mailing house for circulation of the Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management and ACHSE National Congress promotional material. No other organisations have access to these lists.

The College does not provide member information held on the Registry to commercial organisations or enquirers.

From time to time the College will enter into arrangements with organisations to bring information to members. Such arrangements always involve circulation of such information by the College itself.

College member E-Mail contact lists are maintained nationally and by Branches. These are actioned by College officials and staff. Hosting companies are authorised to hold these lists only for College initiated usage.

Registration details provided by members and non members attending College conducted activities are maintained by the College for College contact purposes unless permission is given to the contrary.

Financial information provided to the College by members and others is held for the purposes of processing and recording financial transactions and is only released to the financial institutions involved.

College files containing member information are maintained in physically secured premises and in storage units only accessible to College staff.

If personal information is accessed by a third party to the extent permitted by law the College is not necessarily liable for any loss, damage or costs arising. The College will use all reasonable endeavours to protect and keep confidential any personal information it holds in relation to members and others.
